A Sustainable Garden in the Garage – Bringing Nature Inside
Interestingly, Sarah was able to bring the outdoors in as part of her garage home. Being one to appreciate sustainability and natural beauty, she wanted to create an indoor garden that not only brought aesthetic appreciation but also many practical advantages. Gardening became a vast part of her lifestyle and a portal to connecting with the earth even while living in a small place.

Along one of the garage walls, she created a vertical garden using a series of mounted wall planters and shelves that grew all manner of herbs, vegetables, and flowers. That way she was growing some of her own food instead of buying fresh produce at the store. She had planted some fruit trees in large pots outside the garage as well, realizing further self-sufficiency.
The presence of plants added vibrancy and life to the garage, making it feel less like a utilitarian structure and more like a true home. Indoor plants also help improve air quality, creating a healthier environment. Sarah enjoyed the therapeutic benefits of gardening, finding peace and relaxation in tending to her plants after a long day. Her green thumb allowed her to create a small, flourishing oasis in the heart of her garage home.
