Visitors and Socializing – Hosting Guests in a Small Space
Despite the small living space she had, Sarah was more than determined to maintain her social life and host friends and family in her garage home. One of the commonest misconceptions about small living space is that it is somehow impossible to entertain guests; however, Sarah proved the opposite. It was actually possible to make an environment inviting and welcoming, even under such conditions.

Sarah used her multi-functional furniture to great advantage when hosting guests. As discussed earlier, her modular sofa could be rearranged to fit the needs of the group, whether it was for a casual movie night or a more formal dinner party. Her expandable dining table allowed her to easily accommodate extra people, and she made sure to create a cozy atmosphere by using soft lighting and comfortable seating. She even made her use of outdoor patios, thus creating another space which served social purposes by hosting guests. Outdoor plantings and warm lighting on the patio added a form of elegance to the ambiance, thus making it quite perfect for evening gatherings.
The charm in Sarah’s gathering lies in the fact that she manages to infuse the small space with her own warmth and coziness. From handpicked artwork to local tableware and homemade dishes, she manages to set up an atmosphere where everyone feels at ease. In a garage, Sarah never considered her connection to be compromised, but rather as a different way of life that necessitates innovative ways to preserve those bonds.
