A Discovery Hiding in Plain Sight
Well, it was really a surprise, though always whenever coming into a new house; however, I never could have expected to discover a secret room, let alone filled with such extraordinary treasures. It started by a simple home inspection. There was sorting of items in the basement while finding out a portion of the wall that didn’t exactly match with the others. Whatever I would tap on that, the hollow sound struck my interest; then my adventurous spirit took over, and I didn’t let go.
Armed with a flashlight and a crowbar, I peeled away layers of drywall, increasingly curious about what I’d find behind the drywall. Shocked at my discovery, it was an old, dirty wooden door that had no handle – so well hidden in that everybody seemed not to have entered for decades. Taking some time to hesitate over this, I forced it open and discovered the find I would never forget to tell my children.
