Improving Reporting and Advocacy
Educating the public on what to look out for in child neglect and abuse is very important. People should be encouraged reporting of suspected abuses or neglects; this helps save the lives of children and grants them safety. Many people may shy away because they fear that they are getting themselves involved and may look as if they are overstepping the limits. It should be clear that protection of the child is paramount.

Advocating for child welfare law policies that build child welfare laws is equally significant. Communities should push legislation that helps preventive measures-that helps families when they are at risk before situations reach the point where children get lost alone in public spaces. Through advocating comprehensive family support systems, we can work toward building an environment where every child is protected and nurtured.
