The Emotional Burden
At this point, the girl’s words dropped in Officer James’s heart. He would be telling her that she was safe and that her mother was somewhere and would be found, but with a mix of sorrow and frustration within. The fact that a three-year-old could feel unwanted by a parent is yet one of the painful reminders of the many trials which are ripped out from the hearts of families which most people do not see.
Being abandoned in a parking lot was not a different issue for the little girl, it was emotionally painful which would certainly leave deep scars on her soul. Children are quite perceptive and generally absorb the emotions and tensions prevalent in their surroundings. This incident highlights the fact that there should be mental awareness among the parents so that they understand that children’s emotional health is closely tied with their surrounding environment as well as the relations developed within their family.
